Wordsmith

Copywriter & Account Executive
Greg is an experienced media professional and something of a digital pioneer, having started his career in 1998 as a sports journalist at WOZA Internet, one of South Africa’s first online newspapers. With the crackle of the dial-up modem still fresh in his ears, he was headhunted by a new kid on the block called News24.com in 1999 to cover sport. He climbed the ranks to Sports Editor and later News Editor at what was to become South Africa’s largest online news portal, cutting his teeth in the fast-paced publishing environment of online news. Five years later, while completing Master of Arts degree in Journalism and Media Studies at Wits University, Greg worked at a number of weekly print media titles at Media24 and Caxton Magazines. Seeking a fresh challenge, he moved to Media Tenor South Africa where he was involved in conducting media research, writing and presenting reports for corporate clients. He gained valuable insights into the world of small business while working with his father in the family’s chemical company, but parted ways after moving to Durban in 2015 when his wife took up a new role. He jumped at the opportunity to reignite his passion for writing and copy editing at Select Web. Besides an MA, Greg holds certifications in Inbound Marketing and Content Marketing. He is passionate about digital marketing and the opportunities it creates for SMMEs.
